Defence Interns Visit Serbian Embassy

On 13 May 2016, ten ADC-ICTY interns visited the Serbian Embassy in The Hague. The interns were hosted by Saša Obradović, the Legal Adviser of the Republic of Serbia. The interns received a warm welcome. Mr. Obradović gave the interns an insight into his professional career by sharing some of his experiences. Over the past years he has represented Serbia at the ICJ, ICTY and ICC. Mr. Obradović was open to the interns and gave them the opportunity to raise any issues or questions. For instance, the topic of the contempt case of Jojić et al was discussed and other recent events in the Balkan region were touched upon. Lecture on Expert Evidence

On 7 May 2016, the ADC-ICTY hosted a lecture by Mark MacDonald, a criminal defence barrister in Mansfield Chambers in London. The topic covered was Expert Evidence in Criminal Proceedings in the UK, US and international courts. Mark has been practicing in criminal defence for the last 20 years and has considerable experience in the use of expert evidence in criminal trials. Mark is the founder and Director of the London Innocence Project and has spent many years working on miscarriages of justices both in the UK and in the US where he has been involved in assisting inmates on death row. He is currently the Chairman of Lincoln’s Inn Bar Representation Committee.
