Defence Interns Visit the New ICC Premises

On Friday 26 February 2016, around 15 ADC-ICTY interns visited the newly opened International Criminal Court. The interns were greeted by staff of the Press Office and were given a presentation about the ICC and the new building. The group was one of the first to be given access to the new building. The tour included a visit to a photograph exhibition and information about the developments and events at the ICC since its inauguration in 1998.

The participants were asked for their impressions of the ICC and its work and a lively discussion took place. At the end of the visit the group were taken to the public gallery, however unfortunately the session was in private and they were unable to view the ongoing trial.

The ADC-ICTY regularly organises study trips for defence interns which gives them an insight into the different international courts and organisations which are located in the city of The Hague.
