ADC-ICT to be Represented at the ICTY/MICT Open Day

On Sunday 24 September, the ICTY and MICT will be open as part of The Hague International Justice Open Day. Throughout the day there will be various tours and presentations about the work of the tribunals. At 12.30pm, there will be a presentation by Marie O’Leary, Vice President of the ADC-ICT, about the association and the role of defence before the international courts and tribunals. ADC-ICT Annual Conference 2017

The ADC-ICT Annual Conference 2017 will take place in The Hague on 9 December. The title of this year's conference is: 'International Crimes: Past, Present and Future Perspectives'. The conference will cover a variety of legal topics which have arisen at the international courts and tribunals. The legacy of the courts which have closed will be discussed as well as currently ongoing legal issues and the potential future crimes which could be prosecuted. Building a Case Advocacy Training

On Saturday 9 September 2017, a training day was conducted by Colleen Rohan at the ICTY/MICT and covered the topic of Building a Case before the international courts and tribunals. The included aspects of a case including preliminary motions, setting up a team, challenging the indictment and special defences. The day was attended by approximately 30 people from a variety of back grounds and jurisdictions.
