ADC-ICT Issues Statement on the Passing of Slobodan Praljak

On 30 November 2017, the ADC-ICT issued a Statement on the Passing of Slobodan Praljak. The ADC-ICT regrets the passing of Mr. Slobodan Praljak and the unfortunate event that occurred at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on 29 November 2017. During the reading of the summary of the Appeals Judgement in the Prlić et al case, Mr. Praljak, one of the six appellants, apparently drank a liquid that may have resulted in his death. The ADC-ICT fully supports a transparent, independent and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. ADC Representatives participate at International Meetings of Defence in Nuremberg

On 9 and 10 November, representatives of the ADC participated in the 5th International Meetings of Defence which took place in historical Courtroom 600 in Nuremberg. A general update on issues at the ICTY and MICT was given by Dominic Kennedy, Head of Office and Marie O’Leary, Vice President, was on a panel which presented the Manual on Investigations. The event brought together practitioners and academics to discuss defence issues arising over the last year at the international courts and tribunals.
